remaining  seated,  began: "are  General  Wan-Wu,   of  Engineers  Army  Corp, 
electronic  expert".   He  pointed  at  a  man  with  oriental  features,   an 
indecipherable age and dressed  with an uniform full  of ribbons,  that was on 
his  right,  "and  His  Excellency  Boghanu,  permanent  member  of World-wide 
Directive  Council".  A middle-age woman,  with African  somatic types and  an 
authoritative look,  sitting by General Wan-Wu side,  gave all the presents in 
the  room  a  nod.  "The  situation  that  is  happened  this morning  is much 
dangerous",  went on the professor Carpitelli.  "Now I will resume shortly the 
aim and the importance of our project,  so that the situation is very clear to 
all those are present",  and turned  the look towards  the two persons entered 
with  him  in the room.  "On year 2010  it appeared obvious  to the world-wide 
authorities  that in the more technologically advanced countries  the decrease 
of the births increased in an unstoppable way and the number of the deaths, in 
the same countries, exceeded in an unacceptable way the number of the new born 
babies.  Also in the countries less civilized,  the rhythm of the births began 
to slow down sensibly.  It was  therefore  necessary  to set off  a scientific 
project that helped  the humanity  to resolve t he most tremendous danger that 
had never  faced,  and that is  the extinction  for defect  of births.  It was 
calculated,  on the ground  of accurate statistical studies,  that  about year 
2025 the number  of the deaths,  at world-wide level,  would have exceeded the 
number  of the new born babies and that  the humanity  practically  would have 
extinguished itself nearly in the following 100 years, fixing the date of year 
2150,  as that one of the disappearance of the men from Earth.  It was obvious 
that we had to intervene timely. Enormous amounts of resources were overturned 
in this new project, to which the auspicious name of Aeacus Project was given. 
We  revived  biological and genetic technologies,  banned only  a few of years 
before,  because  thought  too  much  susceptible  of uncontrolled and harmful 
developments.  But in that moment  we did not have  too many possibilities  of 
choice.  Between  the several possible  techniques  the most suitable  to this 
problem and the less dangerous  was judged that one  of the "Artificial Womb". 
Some "Sperm and Ovules Banks"  were created  to world-wide level  and  all the 
inhabitants  of the Earth  were  obliged  to resupply such banks more times in 
their life.  It came  then  realized  one  gigantic  structure,  call commonly 
"Hive", in place of its official name of Aeacus Project.
