Bioengineering is the science that studies the biomedical techniques in order to arrive at the performance
of certain equipment. It makes use of particular acquaintances of Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry,
Mechanics and Physics to apply them to Biology and Medicine, in order
to create artificial organs, prosthesis, diagnostic apparatuses, etc. Therefore it is a science in constant
development, as it uses the study of several modern disciplines. In the last years more and more complex
artificial organs of vital importance, as some parts of the cardiac apparatus, as the liver, as the kidney, etc,
have been recreated in a sufficiently functional way thanks to this science, allowing to extend the length
of the life of several subject suffering from pathologies that until some years ago were completely incurable.
